If you take the B2B e-commerce market, it is undoubtedly dominated by the global e-commerce behemoth, Amazon with a million plus business customers and 85,000 sellers since the launch of its B2B division in April 2015, according to which-50.com.Ever since, Amazon has witnessed humongous growth by expanding its customer base across segments such as education, healthcare, government and commercial organizations. Amazon boasts of having top names in the industry as customers including Con Edison of New York, Gwinnett County Public Schools, Intermountain Healthcare, King County, Johns Hopkins, and Mayo Clinic, Siemens in the US and Standford University and more.Prentiss Wilson, VP of Amazon Business, was quoted as saying by the report: “Customer feedback has been invaluable in helping us better serve businesses and organizations of various sizes, from local government agencies to global enterprises we are constantly looking for ways to innovate on behalf of customers. Choosing AmazonA decentralized structure and a gamut of products sourced within a University environment make traditional procurement cumbersome to manage. And this lends itself to the more consumer-oriented buying experience of an open marketplace, says the report. In order to provide its campus consumers an open marketplace with increased visibility and seamless sourcing, Stanford University’s Procurement department did not have second thoughts in selecting Amazon Business, the report pointed out.Drake Paben, Director of IT Procurement, Siemens Corporation (US) told the portal: “Amazon Business is taking a lot of weight off of our shoulders. Depending on the type of business, our teams may need tools delivered in a matter of hours, large amounts of office supplies, or big pieces of machinery for our factories. With Amazon Business, we are able to automate a lot of orders and give our employees, divisions, and factories the products they need to complete their jobs in a timely manner. They can find products easily on Amazon Business, and get them delivered in a very short amount of time.
