The online retail sales in the US market will grow in excess of $506 billion in 2018 and by 2022 it is likely to cross $712 billion, quoting a research paper released by Forrester Research, a retaildive.com report said. According to the study, nearly all American adults, almost 98% already go online at least once a day. What is more, in excess of 53% of the $3.7 trillion US retail market will be driven through digital touch points by the end of the year, the report said quoting the researchers as saying. The e-commerce is also quickly moving into the devices in people's hands: more than $1.3 trillion of the US retail sales will impact by Smartphones in 2018, the report pointed out.
For a while now, it's been pretty clear that the US shoppers expect lower prices online, and the research from Forrester found that 61% of adults here believe they find better value and deals online while roughly half also say that the product information found online is more useful than what is available in the store, the report said.
